Triangular Key Tray with Rivet Legs
Forged key/trinket tray from my “Brushstroke” series. Made from thick flatbar, it is sumptuously heavy for its size. It has a nice deep texture, providing visual interest. This model sports three dandy rivets which serve as legs, which are flat on top and domed on the bottom. Having 3 legs it will always balance perfectly, and has enough weight to be stable.
This piece is finished using one of my favorite spray sealing techniques, where large portions of the scale that forms during forging is left, which creates a pleasing dark color when sealed, appropriate to the material.
Made from 1018 mild steel.
Measures ~6" from tip to side, ~6-3/4" from tip to tip, and ~1-1/2" tall.
