Steel Catchall Tray
Forged key/trinket tray. Made from thick flatbar, it is sumptuously heavy for its size. It has a nice deep texture, providing visual interest. The texture tools used for this are hand-made by me, and therefore unique to my trays. Feel free to send me a note with what you think I should call this texture! The contrasting height of the corners, being somewhat symmetrical on the diagonal, provides a visual balance which is highly pleasing to the eye.
This piece is finished using one of my favorite spray sealing techniques, where large portions of the scale that forms during forging is left, which creates a pleasing dark color when sealed, appropriate to the material.

It comes with 4 very small stick-on furniture pads for use on damageable surfaces.
Made from 1018 mild steel.
Measures ~6.25” on the longer sides, and ~4.5” on the short side.
