Interacting Rings

One of a kind. When making this piece I had the idea of rings interacting and joining in unique ways. Two rings are joined together with a single rivet, closed inside the ring, creating two challenges in creation- how to keep the pieces from rotating, and how to head the rivet inside the rings! A fun challenge! The third ring, from which the pendant hangs, provides its own design challenges and visual interest. It is formed from another material entirely, being yet another size, and having its own profile. To me, this adds the finishing touch- three rings that are all connected differently, in different sizes, tones, and profiles, yet blending together in perfect harmony.

One of my favorite parts of this as well is the contrast between the polished faces of the steel rings and their heavily textured sides. Maintaining either finish in close proximity to the other is far more problematic than anyone would suppose, and the utmost care has to be taken when working on either surface to see that the treatment it receives never strays to the other.

This piece has a clear coat for a clean finish, which won’t rub off on your clothes, and hangs from a black or brown leather cord. The cord comes long so you can tie it at the length you prefer- often hand forged pendants are worn lower than is typical. Hard to say why, I’m just told it feels right! So, I left it long so you can further customize it to fit your style.

Available with a black or brown leather cord, completing the traditional and grounded feel of a forged piece of art, while allowing your own style to be added, making it unique, and uniquely yours.
