Hand forged End Table with Traditional Joinery

This is my 4th end table, and my first semi-production run. Each one is unique, and is given a distinctive hardwood top, amplifying the dissimilarities between each one. This method of production significantly reduces the cost to the consumer, while leaving intact the core identity of handmade- being unique.

The traditional joints in this piece include mortise and tenons, hot wraps, and hot collars. Modern welding techniques are then applied to fasten the harness to the top of the base, and the scrolls which have a copper wrap, as the copper won’t hold the joint tight in this manner. These welds being obscured from view leaves the piece with the timeless look only blacksmiths can bring into the world.
